White stone kitchen island in a living space

Quartz worktops

Quartz worktops for busy kitchens.

Engineered quartz surfaces that resist stains, need no sealing and come in calm, consistent colours, from pure white to marble-effect veining.

Quartz worktops

The low-maintenance stone worktop.

Quartz worktops are engineered: crushed mineral bound with resin and pigment into slabs. The result is non-porous, so wine, coffee and oil wipe away, and it never needs sealing.

Because quartz is made rather than quarried, the colour is consistent from slab to slab. That makes it a good choice for long runs, islands and matching splashbacks.

We work mainly with Silestone by Cosentino, whose HybriQ+ technology uses a lower proportion of crystalline silica than traditional quartz. You can compare colours and edge profiles at our Ruislip showroom.

Quartz (Silestone)

Non-porous and stain-resistant, with consistent colour. Use a trivet for hot pans.

Sintered stone (Dekton)

Ultra-compact and resistant to heat, scratches, stains and UV light, so it also works outdoors.

Grey granite worktop with fine pale veining

Natural stone (granite and quartzite)

Every slab is unique, with natural veining. Needs the right sealing and care.

Good to know

Worth checking before you decide.

Use a trivet for hot pans

Quartz handles everyday warmth, but a hot pan straight from the hob can mark or crack the resin. Keep a trivet by the hob.

Indoor use

Quartz is designed for indoor kitchens. For outdoor kitchens, sintered stone is the better choice.

Templated after the units are fitted

We template worktops once the base units are in place, so the stone fits your kitchen exactly.

Are quartz worktops heat resistant?

Quartz handles everyday warmth, but it is not heat-proof. Use a trivet for hot pans and baking trays. If heat resistance matters most, consider sintered stone such as Dekton.

Do quartz worktops need sealing?

No. Quartz is non-porous, so it does not need sealing. Clean it with warm water and a mild detergent.

Is quartz better than granite?

They suit different people. Quartz is non-porous with consistent colour and no sealing. Granite is natural, every slab is unique, and it handles heat well but needs sealing. We can show you both side by side.

Which quartz brands do you offer?

We work mainly with Silestone by Cosentino. We also offer Dekton sintered stone, Éclos and Sensa natural stone.
